Our ambition
We want to ensure all children in the South West of England have the opportunity to access higher education, regardless of their background or personal circumstances.

The problem:In the South West, the largest attainment gaps in the country for under resourced children combine with poor outcomes for high attainers at every stage of the school journey to create some of the greatest barriers to higher education progression for under resourced children in the country. |
Our approach:The Colyton Foundation brings together South West schools and leading universities to increase higher attainment and progression to high tariff higher education. We deliver programmes to directly support under resourced children, and work with teachers and school leaders to develop schools’ knowledge and expertise in enabling high attainment. |
The reward:By 2035, we aim to double the progression rate to top third universities for under resourced young people in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. |
